ST. SOPHIA UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

PRESS RELEASE

Students of St. Sophia Tour the Library

By Subdeacon Ivan Chopko

On Monday, February 2, 2015 the students of Saint Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary were beginning their day like any other school-day. They began their day with Divine Liturgy at 7:00 am in the Three Holy Hierarchs Chapel in the Seminary. After Liturgy they had breakfast and started their classes.

In the afternoon, all the seminarians, Subdeacons Ivan Chopko, Volodymyr Sukanets and Volodymyr Yavorskyi and the new students from Ukraine (Seminarians Taras Kaluzny, Yurii Bobko, Tadey Surak, and Ihor Protsak) went to the Saint Sophia Library, located at the Consistory of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA in South Bound Brook, New Jersey. The students were joined by their English-language teachers: Pani Dobrodijka Oksana, Miss Francis and Miss Anna. The tour of the Library was led by the librarian, Pani Laryssa Bulya. Pani Laryssa gave a beautiful presentation about the library here, how to use a library, and how to find books and other materials in the library. She also taught about the online catalog and how to search for books using all the different search options. At the end of the presentation, Pani Laryssa had the students work in pairs to find different books on the shelves. The tour and presentation were both very interesting and fun and all the seminarians enjoyed the tour.
